Submerged (Alaskan Courage Book One) by Dani Pettrey
In author Dani Pettrey’s debut novel, Submerged, the death of her aunt in a mysterious plane crash brings Russian Historian Bailey Craig home to face her worst fears: the town of Yancey, Alaska, and Cole McKenna, the man she loved and left behind.
Soon Bailey and Cole are drawn into a hunt for both a murderer, and a long-hidden treasure. But are the secrets waiting beneath the cold Alaskan waters better left SUBMERGED?
I loved this book!! The story line and character development are exceptional and believable. There were parts to Bailey’s story that are so heart wrenching that it was painful to read. These parts were honest and well written. The McKenna family is introduced. What I liked about them was they are REAL. As this was Book One in the series I am excited to see where the author goes in exploring this dynamic family. Bailey and Cole share a deep love and they learn how to forgive and respect each other while searching for answers. There is a historical piece to this story that I found to be exciting and very interesting. I eagerly await Book 2 of Alaskan Courage. Well done and well worth the read.
