Prize of My Heart is a novel of suspense and adventure, faith and inspiration. A privateer captain from the War of 1812 is forced to make a heartrending choice between his child and what he knows to be right. Only his unselfish sacrifice can win him the greatest prize of all....love.
This novel has a nice overall story line; however the plot at times is predictable. The lead characters of Lorena and Brogan do not get developed enough and I found myself not really caring about what happened to them. The story was a bit choppy in places and being a history fan I would have like to see a bit more of the history aspect to the story. The relationship between Lorena and Drew was beautiful as was the relationship between Lorena and her father. God and forgiveness is portrayed and explained well. Overall a good read but I finished feeling somewhat unfulfilled, wanting characters/story to be tied up more with a clearer picture of how the story ends, how all the characters developed not just one.
