Wonderful!

I was eagerly anticipating the arrival of this Bible as the concept was very exciting to me. The general editor, Ann Spangler, has written two books on the names of God. I have not read either so I came to this Bible with no preconceived ideas.

The following is an overview:
The Names of God Bible restores more than 10,000 occurrences of specific names of God--like Yahweh, El Shadday, El Elyon, and Adonay--to help readers connect with the Hebrew roots of their Christian faith and experience a deeper understanding of God's character. Perfect for personal study, prayer, and reflection.

I read the books of Ruth, Ephesians and Proverbs 31:10-31. The author has inserted the different names of God into the text which at first I found a bit distracting as these names and pronunciations were new to me (ex. You are built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets. Christ Yeshua himself is the cornerstone. Ephesians 2:20). However, at the beginning of the Bible there is a pronunciation guide and once I started using that the reading got a lot easier and I was a lot less distracted.
Overview of God’s Word translation:
GOD'S WORD Translation (GW) accurately translates the meaning of the original texts into clear, everyday language. Readable and reliable, GW is living, active, and life-changing.

I loved the theme of this Bible and the translation (which I have never read before). This will be a version I will refer to often and I plan on using it for personal study and prayer.
